Type the weight of the base ingredient into the box at the top of the ingredients, or choose servings. Every other line, the steps and the yield follow. Recipes with a pan size scale by the pan’s area.

In Metric view counted items like eggs keep their count; the grams in brackets are what the recipe expects, so you can check against your scale.

They are ways to read the same recipe: everything in grams, metric volumes where they make sense, exactly as the author typed it, or US cups and ounces. Your choice is remembered in Settings, Units and Display.

Start Cooking shows one step at a time with the ingredients that step uses, big timers, and the screen kept awake. Check off what you have added; it is remembered on this device.

Press Ctrl K (Cmd K on a Mac) on any page and type: recipes, your drafts, ingredients, creators and pages show as you go. Enter opens the one highlighted, or the full search.

Yes, for what you opened before. Recipes, cook mode and shopping lists you viewed on a device open there without signal, and list changes are sent when you are back. Pages you never opened need a connection. Signing out removes the kept copies of your own pages from the device.

Instead of stars, people who cooked a recipe say whether they would make it again. The share shows once three people have answered. You can add a short note and a photo.

Choose New Recipe, then type it, paste it, import it from a link, or upload files. Each line becomes an ingredient Forklet understands; check the lines marked for a second look.

In the editor, type @ in a step to insert an ingredient’s amount. It scales with the recipe. Write {time:8m} for a timer and {temp:220C} for a temperature.

Cards, search and the recipe page lead with it. Private recipes and recipes shared by link get a drawn plate instead. Every photo needs a short description for people who cannot see it.

Natural side light from a window, the hero shot from 45 degrees or straight down, a calm background, and a few photos of the steps that matter, like folding or checking doneness.

Yes, from YouTube or Vimeo, in the editor’s Video card. Each step can play a part of it. Readers see our copy of its picture, and nothing loads from the video site until they press play. TikTok and Instagram cannot be linked yet.

Yes. On the publish page choose Later and pick a time. The draft stays editable until then.

Forking makes a private copy that remembers where it came from. What it may become depends on the original’s license; the publish page tells you. Published forks credit the original.

Forklet Standard and All Rights Reserved allow private copies only. Creative Commons licenses allow sharing with credit; CC BY SA copies keep the same license.

Yes, for public and link shared recipes: use Embed at the foot of the recipe. The card shows the ingredients as written, links back for the method, and sets no cookies.

Each of your recipes exports as Forklet JSON or Markdown from the foot of its page. Download Everything in Settings, Account gives one ZIP file with all you made, photos included.

Yes. In Settings, Household, invite people by username or email. Everyone in a household shares one meal plan; lists and private catalogs are shared when you switch Share With Household on for them, and check offs show for everyone as they happen.

Use Report on the recipe, note or question. Moderators review every report and tell the author what was decided and why; decisions can be appealed once.

Send a copyright notice from the Copyright page. The recipe is hidden while it is reviewed, and its author can respond.

Settings, Account. Deletion waits 30 days so you can change your mind, then removes everything you made.
